Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has assured people of Uttarkashi of uninterrupted power supply

Uttarkashi/Dehradun, 18 May:
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has assured people of Uttarkashi of uninterrupted power supply and approval of various development programs for the district phase by phase.
Chief Minister Bahuguna addressing the public meeting at Azad Maidan in Uttarkashi on Friday said that process was on at OBC Commission and state level to include Bhatwari, Dunda Tehsil and several other places of Chinyalisoud under Backward Area and bringing the people of these areas under OBC purview. He said that as soon as the Government receives reports from the Commission it would take appropriate action in this direction. Mr. Bahuguna disclosed that the state government, in keeping with its commitment to develop border and backward areas, had decided to constitute separate Rs. 50 crore Fund for the same. "The State Government is giving especial attention for speedy development of far flung backward areas and welfare programs for the people," he asserted.
Mr. Bahuguna describing Gairsen as core centre of people's sentiments and symbol of backwardness said that a Cabinet Meeting would be conducted there on October 2 this year. He said that it would be the Government's effort to reach in remote backward areas and ensure speedy development. Mr. Bahuguna said that a Committee would be formed to mull over inception of new districts and ensure better administrative set up in those districts. "There is no place for politics when it comes to the welfare of the general public," he asserted.
Mr. Bahuguna observed that hydro-power projects were necessary for the prosperity of the State but not without maintaining incessant flow of river and ensuring protection of the environment. He said that all should think in a practical way and cooperate with the Government. Revealing that a federation was being constituted for marketing facilities to farmers, Mr. Bahuguna said that this would benefit them in a great way. Underlining the necessity of establishing industries in the hill region, he said investors were being requested to set up training institutes to produce skill labours for the industries in local level.  In a bid to generate employment opportunities in the state, the investment of Rs. 20,000 crore in industrial sector was proposed, he said. He disclosed that quota system would be introduced to fill the outsourced government vacancies.
Chief Minister Bahuguna responding to various demands put up by the public representatives on the occasion assured them to fulfill their demands phase by phase. Also present on the occasion were area MLA Vijaypal Singh Sajwan, former MLA Kedar Singh Rawat and other Congress leaders including Dhananand Nautiyal, Vijay Semwal, Natthilal Shah and Gyanchand.


 
Uttarkashi/Dehradun 18 May:
          Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that looking into the positive attitude of Central Government towards enhancing tourism in the state; the present need was to work faster in preparing development programs from State Government's side.
Mr. Bahuguna chairing the meeting of government officers in District Headquarter on Friday said that Uttarkashi District was important in view of tourism and pilgrimage and concrete steps had to be taken in this direction. Stressing on providing better facilities for tourists he directed the officers to ensure better traffic management.
Chief Minister Bahuguna said that Centre would be requested for timely completion of Tambakhani Tunnel renovation work under Varunavat Package. He directed the officers to maintain coordination with Border Road Organization for repair work of Gangotri Motor Road and also asked them to expedite widening work of Nagun-Bhavan Road. He asked them to ensure quality in the works also instructed them to visit villages to redress grievances of general public. He instructed them to present him the list of development works pending in government level and ensure their timely completion.
Present on the occasion were Gangotri MLA Vijaypal Singh Sajwan, District Magistrate Dr. Rajesh Kumar, SP Rajiv Swaroop, former MLA Kedar Singh Rawat, Congress leader Ghananand Nautiyal, Chief Development Officer MS Kutiyal, ADM VS Dhanik amongst others.
Earlier on his arrival to Uttarkashi, Chief Minister also paid his obeisance in Vishwanath Temple and prayed for prosperity of the State.
