Chief  Secretary Alok Kumar Jain appreciated BRO Chief Engineer KK Rajdan for speedy  construction of Valley   Bridge at Gangori. He  also lauded ITBP jawans for carrying out relief works on war footing with great  dedication. Despite incessant rain 150 jawans were engaged in constructing 180  feet long bridge. BRO Commander UK Pandey said that construction was almost  over and would be opened for traffic on Monday.
          Chief  Secretary Jain said that the bridge would connect hundreds of villages that  were stranded due to damage to Gangori   Bridge in natural calamity.  The bridge would also connect Gangotri National highway to Uttarkashi. At  Bhatwari too construction of 110 feet long Valley Bridge  was almost over which would be opened soon. The bridge would facilitate  transportation of heavy machines for the repair of damaged roads at Bhatwari,  Agoda, Gajoli, Bhankol, Dasda and Gram Sabha Nald. Mr. Jain said that this  would help in bringing back life in these areas to normalcy. He said that BRO  was continuously working at Dharasu Band and Nalu Pani sliding zone. 
The Chief Secretary is personally  monitoring the relief works at Uttarkashi and taking information about the  situation.
